Egg too small, duckling pipped, struggling to breathe, no noise, day 28 - pic attached

Congrats!!!! He's beautiful!!!!!! I hope the others don't need help 👍

And I bet he's feeling lucky that his mom knows how to do these things. Hehe
I had help :)
I hadn’t run into that before so asked @WVduckchick and she gave me advice on how to start then monitor
If you have one zip the wrong way they may need help
I will he able to write a book soon on every way a duckling can hatch beyond the normal way :)

We got another one too. 😁 He needed help, but I didn't think that egg would make it at all so I'm thrilled! Been cooking since 2/26 He's a bit late to the party

Yay !!!
We had another one at midnight
That’s 4 out of 5
Baby 5 I’m praying he is going to pull through. He has hit veins as the bruising has gone all over the egg. We have no idea where the beak is but can see breathing movements from the body at the lower part of the air cell
Made a safety hole in the first bruise Yesterday morning but last night at midnight after the other hatched I checked on him and we saw all the bruises. If he is still going this morning I will start trying to find his beak and make a bigger hole for him then slowly assist hatch.

I hope he does ok. I'll be rooting for him!!

Umbilical still attached? Another duck hatched. All by himself (almost). Lol. He did great, but I'm concerned because he's dragging the placenta around. His umbilical didn't dry up so he's got a line to the placenta still. I'm not sure what to do

He moved so I was able to get a slightly better picture of the Umbilical. It's still red so I don't want it to break. He dropped the shell off as he walked, but the placentas is still attached
