Egg too small, duckling pipped, struggling to breathe, no noise, day 28 - pic attached

He is still chewing and sleeping lots
When I talk to him he opens his eye and looks at me.
I brought him home from the school so I can watch him through the night. We used a converter to keep it plugged in on the road trip home :)
Any news on #5? Still have the positive thoughts streaming his way 😉
At 5:30 this morning I had to pull him out. He was stiff completely glued to his shell and the goo had him stiff.
I got most of it off he can now move his head and neck. He just has a swollen belly with a tiny bit to absorb. He is now in a bowl with dry paper towel and plastic wrap over the bottom half of the bowl to make sure he doesn’t dry out while absorbing
He seems alert and chirping away

Nice save!!! Sounds like he's making progress 😁. That cement is incredible.

If I didn't think humans would take it too far I'd suggest we use that stuff to fill pot holes. It would be a one-and-done! Hehe

He is absorbed but his has wry neck
I’m trying to give him water with vitamin b complex and I gave him a tiny bit of nutridrench on the finger
I really hope he can get better
He is chirping and loves to be held

Poor thing! He's having a very rough start
He sure is
But he is full of pep
He had eaten and drank with help as he can’t walk yet.
He loves to cuddle and talk to you
He also likes to be covered up
He is now resting with his fake friends abd his blanket

That is such an incredibly cute picture!
We are headed to the vet this morning
There is an issue with his hip and hopefully they can pop it back in or show me how to wrap it till it heals
He has a lot more energy today and trying to walk but this hip isn’t working for him
The vitamins are slowly helping his neck get stronger. Even his legs. Today he finally has his feet open fully and can pulll the bad leg under him but with it out his leg sits back a bit from the other one and slightly turns in
With time and care I think he should recover

How did the little one do at the vet? I hope he got some good news 🙂

How are your little ones doing ?
Anymore hatched ?
As of today we have five that have hatched. We have been extremely lucky in that we have not lost anyone since the first couple days. Thanks to the help here I have a much better idea of what I'm looking for.

I think the biggest problem with the set of eggs I have is going to be shell thickness. As time is going on I am noticing that they some are unable to externally pip and the others are unable to get that first crack going after the external pip. We've been timing everything out as best as we can and making sure they have breathing holes if there's no pip. From there we wait and watch and eventually have had to put a little starter crack off of their pip. From there the last two have been able to take care of it themselves. 👍

Everyone was getting a little cranky in the brooder. I don't think they liked the idea of newcomers being brought in everyday. Lol. So I went down to a second-hand store and picked up a pack and play. I put everyone in in separate corners and they all ran around not knowing who actually owned the place. It was starting to look like a WWE smackdown in the brooder, but everyone is happy as a kid with a cupcake now!

This was them at bedtime...
(The environment is 83 degrees. They are not cold. But they all seem to think the stuffed reindeer doll is mama 🤣)
