I thought I'd share this with all the shipped eggs people are getting that seem hopeless. I have an egg in the incubator that had a completely detached aircell, one that went from one side of the egg to the other, the aircell was also broken with it being in several bubbles clustered together. Well I set it anyway in an egg holder so it'd stay upright. Surprisingly it was the only egg out of 29 that had a damaged aircell, the rest had perfect ones. Now it's on day 17 & still developing! Now that the veins have spread throughout the egg it has held the the aircell in the right place for the most part, although I still wouldn't lay it on its side.
I just wanted to post this to give hope to people that receive shipped eggs that are damaged that there is still hope, you just have to incubate them a little different (like putting them upright) than eggs with perfect aircells. I'll post pics if it hatches, it's a bantam EE in a green/blue egg.
