Egg weight loss questions...

As long as you're at 5,000 or below, you can go with normal directions.
Just understand that at higher elevations, there is less oxygen available to the embryo, molecules fly around faster in the thin air so water and CO2 transpires the egg pores faster.
The latter will be especially true if you bought your eggs from breeders at lower elevation.
That could explain the faster weight loss.

We bought the eggs from a friend, they were laid less than 3 miles from my house. The pair (of birds) the eggs came from were raised here as well.

I spoke with another person today who had two eggs from the same "batch" (same hen, he got his a couple weeks before me) and he had one hatch and one infertile. He's in the same climate as I am and he said they didn't weigh their eggs at all (sort of on accident)!! Part of me wonders if I am worrying about nothing and perhaps I should just set the humidity to 30% and stop fussing about it.

I also spoke with Shelby (from here on the forums) today and she suggested that I continue to add tape (up to 90% coverage!) and to reduce the humidity slowly back to 30%.

So much semi-conflicting information it's making my brain hurt!
