I was cracking eggs this morning and they seemed paler than usual. I cooked them and thought they had a funny smell. So I threw them out and cracked some more. Some of them had a greenish tint to the casing around the egg yolk. They didn't smell when they were raw. Any idea what caused it? All eggs were from this week and were brought inside each morning.

So we feed then some flock crumbler in the morning and evenings with some meal worms. They free range on the lake we live on during the day so not sure what all they get into during the day.

I have had a few eggs lately that were very thick yolk and did not smell right. I tossed them. I attributed to them burying them in the damp ground even though I collect them daily and something getting into the bloom. I could be wrong but the ones not buried so deep where it had been wet were fine.

So cracked more really green yolk eggs this morning. They smell fine until cooked. Not sure what's going on! So frustrating.
