Hi!
Usually the fresh egg yolks will stand when cracked open, but lately some of them the yolk will instantly run like water when the egg is opened, any ideas why? It has been hot weather here and high humidity- we feed extra egg by Kent, free access oyster shell, scratch occasionally, and the occasional yogurt. our hens are 1 yr old. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Probably due to the heat. Try collecting more frequently if you are able. The only time I have seen them like that, is clears from the bator(100 degrees) after day 7 when I take them out and scramble them for the dogs, so I'm thinking it's the heat.

Thank you for your reply. I was thinking the heat too was affecting them as they are even at times panting. We have fans running in the coop. The eggs are fresh as we gather them every morning and then again every night, we never let a day go by without gathering the eggs. Our hens are very healthy so we didn't think that illness could be what is wrong.
Is there any illness that depicts this kind of a problem?
Has anyone had runny yolks when the weather is hot?
