Eggbid registration

I found out that the folks that started Eggbid are no longer running it. I was told they don't know who is running it these days and that there are suspicions that maintenance is lacking. Eggbid's days may be numbered if more interest by the site's owners doesn't happen soon.

Well, no wonder the eggs that we have been posting are getting no bids. New people cannot get a password. I noticed we were not getting our notices any longer on the auction results. There sure are dead beats still bidding and messing things up. Customer service has always been a problem with Eggbid.com.

There is another site call "******". They have great customer service, however are at a point of getting ready to shut down because not enough auctions are being posted to keep it up and running. I am sure you can get a password with them and if more people start using the site maybe there may be a better site to use.

Edited because the site name is being changed to backyardchicken.com automatically. It's the same as eggbid.com except with a .net. Is there a problem with posting this information Mods? Please delete if there is.

I have always used free email services. Otherwise anytime you change ISP's you have to give everyone your new address, and it's a pain in my rear! Anyway, I had to call my ISP to set up a email account just to register for eggbid. My registration went through in minutes, but my experiences on there have been less then stellar! It seems to me that so many auctions are closing at minimum or no bids now, and even if you win an auction.....you have to check and see! No email letting you know you won or didn't. I much prefer ebay or BYC auctions.

I made a suggestion that the other site should be plugged in on Eggbid since it is not being monitored. That might get the other the traffic it needs. BTW, was it called Show Bird that the other OP tried to put up?

No, it was called eggbid dot net.

Yes, eggbid has not been monitored at all for at least a year that I know of. End of auction e-mails are not being sent and no one even knows how to reach Timothy Jones, who is supposed to be the owner of the site.

From what was said I can't say yay or nay to Tim still owning the board. What was said is that Scott, who monitored the board, has not been a part of it for nearly a year.

So anyone reading this thread ought to go get a registration done at eggbid. net and at ovabid. com, pronto! I'll post a few postings on eggbid. com and tell folks about the attention redirection...it needs to happen!
