yes, they were standards. Good ol' backyard mutt standards, actually... I've heard that's the hardiest of the chicken world.

Maybe my fridge was an exception

Question for Farmer Kitty: I seem to have exactly the same skillet you have, which makes following your thread all that much easier. My humidity gauges are all in a plastic bag with salt so I can figure out how accurate they are. Right now I have a small custard cup of water in the skillet but no way of testing the humidity level. My question is: has the water supply you have in your original picture continued to be giving you the correct humidity level?

Oooooh.....this is sooooo much fun.

Yes, I'm still using the shot glass. At hatch time I'm going to be putting the eggs into egg cartons and will add some plastic easter eggs to up the humidity. It doesn't take much and I'm only putting 5-8 cc of water in the shot glass. You don't need the full surface of a full shot glass.

I'm on day 13 and can't wait to candle tomorrow and see how things are going.

Good luck to you!

Incubator is going to be delivered TODAY. Hurrah !!!!
Depending on what time FedEx gets here with it, I may be transferring my eggs out of the skillet and into the 'bator late today or tomorrow.

And adding to those 6, the 12 that I bought locally on Sunday.

So, remind me: if I put the eggs into the skillet at noon on Sunday, was that day 0 or day 1?

Thanks

Susan

Thanks, Sara. I've been hoping the FedEx guy would come soon enough that I could get it all set up and get them in tonight, but.....so far it's not coming out that way. I've been afraid to leave the house ....don't want to miss him....

But, at the very least, they should probably be ready to go in by tomorrow morning....I HOPE....

Congrats and good luck on those hatchings. Will be watching your progress.
