My eggs from chickenlittle32 came today, I think I counted right, 16 chicken eggs and 14 guinea eggs. Into the incubator they go tomorrow.

Paganbird, keep us posted, I wont be on for a while but will keep checking back.

Have you ever had them hatch on day 22 before? I have an sometimes wonder if its related to shipping in any way?

I have had eggs hatch on day 22 before, but this time none have hatched yet & it's going on day #23. I set them around midnight and started the next morning with day#1. Now I'm more than halfway through day #22 with only one pip. None hatched yet, so I can't yet say "hatched" on day 22. I suspect it may be day#23 for most of them.
Of these first set, 2 are shipped (CloverLeaf) and 9 are my silkie/sizzle bunch (not shipped.)
I'm still blaming bacterial infection. I have not had a batch go this badly yet, so I have no explanation.
I'm excited to see my S/S mix chicks... especially since I have so many sets out being incubated by other BYCers right now.
I'm having patience issues. I keep looking in the 'bator window... as if that would help anything. LOL!
Well, I'm going to go shut the coops up for the night. We're supposed to get a big storm & a load of snow tonight. Then, to keep myself busy, I'm going to dye my hair! LOL! My mom was grey at 30, but I can't stand it. So... I figure by the time I feed/water/tuck-in everyone at the coops & barn, dye my hair, wash it, highlight it, and take a shower... maybe my chickies will have progressed a bit.
I'll check back in after a few hours.

I hear peepin' but I still don't have any chicks.
The pipped Fav chick has decided to do one of those funky pips where they break out a chunk and don't actually zip.
We'll see.
I'm doing my highlights now. 10 more minutes & I rinse them out.

Then I think we'll be about ready for bed. Maybe I'll have a chick (or 2) in the morning.
I'll be cleaning all day. DH is inviting people over for the SB.

I like entertaining company... just not football company.

I had a d'uccle chick do that this time, it was the one that was pipped for 3 days...I had already taken all the others out of the bator, because I was so sure that one wasn't going to hatch, but when I took them all out, it was screaming its little head off in the shell, so I took a big chunk out of the shell, and it came the rest of the way out on its own, but it had a BIG piece of crusty membrane stuck to its wing, and I had to wash it off. It's in the brooder now with the others and is doing great...good luck with it!!
