AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

Its day 20/21, and we lost power at 7 this morning. Our power company claims it will be back on by 8, but will that hour kill/hurt my chicks? I have 3 pipping, and more making noise, and my incubator is not one that retains heat without power. If it's not on by 8:15 I'm moving them to somewhere with powe, but I'm freaking out over here!

Ok, so power is back on, incubator only dropped to 87. Are my chicks at risk?
They will be fine...that short time isn't going to have an effect them...I've had some go for several hours without heat, and when I realized it they were cold but once the temperature stabilized again, they continued to hatch.

Thank you for putting my fears to rest! This is only my second hatch, and my first was a sad disaster with so many eggs not being viable, so I'm a little over-protective of this bunch!

That's perfectly understandable, after a few hundred years you'll be an 'old hand' at hatching! I still get nervous after all the years I've been hatching.
