Did you find out what kinda chickens they had? If those are the same one I was looking at the other day they are a dark brown almost red like a light colored Marans egg. Just pretty eggs.

This past New Year's Day I hatched four White Leghorns from Trader Joe's eggs. This is TJ, the only cockerel and I also have three pullets, all named Josie.

This is TJ on his hatch day - he was upside down in his shell!

Here's what the carton looks like:

I once bought fertile brown eggs from Safeway. Incubated 8 eggs and 4 hatched. It was awhile ago so I don't remember what breed/sex hatched.

Hmmm. Morrisons you say? Lucky me! There happens to be one just a mile or so up the road from me.
Guess which aisle I'll be stopping off in first the next time I go shopping. (Not the wine aisle, for once. LOL!)

Here is the box from the eggs I bought.

Eggs are cheaper than wine and you only wake up with a headache if you sleep next to the incubator.

I will when my OH has another fried egg. I don't eat eggs... He'll probably have a couple for breakfast this weekend, by which time I'll have candled and checked the ones in the incubator anyway. He fried a couple the same day we bought them, but I was outside at the time. I didn't get to see

Yes, they're a descendant of Araucanas. I think they're prettier than the Cream Legbars which, although considered a rare breed, seem quite common!

There's always one to spoil the fun, isn't there! Well my incubator will still be running, but empty now instead. We're testing the new humidity unit as it was playing up.

ETA: I go on their website and I see photos of cockerels with their hens. I'm leaving them in just in case
