Eggs hatching with low humidity

No, one of them small ones. That holds 7-10 chicken eggs. I don't need a big one.

Love my Brinseas, really depends on how much you want to invest, and how much you can monitor. The Brinseas are good for set-and-forget types. Less expensive Styrofoam bators can do fine, as long as you can monitor them to watch for heat spikes and such.

I dripped some warm water on his eyes now he opens them and comes towards me.
Also I got him to peck droplets of water of my finger tip. Now he needs to eat and poop.
He hatched at 6:00 am this morning. When do you think he will start eating?
I hope he makes it!

Aww how is he doing now? Make sure there's crushed up game bird starter crumbles on the ground in the warm and cool areas to help him eat whenever he wants did he find his water source? most people put rocks or marbles in the water so the tiny quail chicks don't risk drowning :O

That's what I did. He won't drink his water yet but he pecks my finger for water. I am trying to get him to drink from the dish. He won't eat yet. It has been 30hrs since he hatched. Is he to young??? I thought he would eat by now.

If he is attracted to your finger for water, try pressing some crumbles with your finger and offer it to him?

Same with the water, place your finger near the water touching it?

You could pick him up and dunk his beak into the water if you are worried. If you tap the water surface they seem to be attracted to the movement. But sometimes they need a quick dunking to make them realise what it is (just watch the nostrils). They look like they are gasping after you do this but just keep it quick and it'll be fine. Another way to do it is to give them a drink off a spoon - it's sometimes easier to get the angle right as when you try and point them downwards to put their beak in the drinker they immediately pull their head back, so you end up having to push their head down towards the water. Whereas with a spoon you can have spoon in one hand, baby in the other and make them meet at the same level. Once they realise what it is they will drink their fill.

Sometimes they just don't recover from hatching. I hope your little one makes it though! Hopefully he's just exhausted from his rather lengthy hatching.

I've had the temperature in the brooder go up to 45 degrees celsius (which according to the conversion online is 113F) and the chicks were still perfectly happy underneath it. And if he's on his own you'll want it on the warmer side. Are any of your other eggs showing signs of life?

I see poop in his tank! I finally got him to drink on his own and I think he is eating to because there is some food missing and he is pooping!e
He has a hard time using one of his legs, the toes are kind of bent to the side. He will run after me now! Will his foot straighten out?
I candeled the other eggs last night 2 look fine one is questionable. They have been in there for 28 days? :cd

Do you have any Nutridrench? I have found that a drop straight from the dropper can perk them up too, but it sounds like he is doing much better! Yeah!!!

Here is the easiest thing to do for messed up toes. Although I usually remove after one day, see if they are better, replace if not.

I put the tape on his feet a few hours ago. I wil probably leave it on for 3 days because that foot was pretty curled.
He is very chipper. We showed him our cats and he ran towards them. Scared them to death! PS he was in tank we held them up.
