Eggs in Incubator..count down to May 21!!

Oh, so you can actually wait until they are in the hatcher before you go get more eggs?

What are we going to do with all these chickens when they start getting bigger?

If I had a roo, I'd have 3 dozen eggs for the bator by now! I'm eating up a storm of eggs off just 4 lazy hens!

But I sure do like this whole process. Getting a bigger bator in the mail.......

My eggs are at the right temps at least and without adding any water at all, maintaining 50% humidity.

I actually can't wait I've got a dozen mixed that I could put in right now just been kinda procrastinating lol but I'm gonna collect again this evening from my girls and will probably put them in tonite. Fortunately I have the room for all of them and what I don't will sell like hotcakes. People are going crazy for chickens around me but I can't say as I blame them I love mine. What kind of bator are you getting Vanalpaca??

I went to customincubators online and got a 3 tray with a hatching drawer, 2 light bulbs and 2 fans and 3 separate doors so I don't lose heat to open the hatcher or add water. It was a great price because it included shipping and was already made. So wait time was minimal. Should hold temps Really Well, includes a thermostat and thermometer, too. All good!

I need to add the egg turner, but shoot, I've got those!

1 week til lock down!! Looks like 6 out of 7 are good!

Still not sure on #7 will check again saturday.

Got my first chick yesterday! Adopted from a science teacher who had 30 eggs & 1 hatch! OMG is he ever cute! He's 5 days old. Adapted to his new digs pretty good. Eating, drinking and sleeping well. I only had to get up twice last night to check on him...lol Do you think he will be ok solitary until next week when my eggs hatch? Seems like he should be ok...expert advice greatly appreciated!

how is every one doing the time is getting close 21st ?

out of 21 eggs so far i have binned 5 as they were infertile i have 2 that are well on there way to having no room left inside,
the rest the shells are to dark i cant see a thing inside even with two lights one on either end i haven't got my hopes up for tho as they were from my local farm and he wasn't sure weather they were fertile anyhow.
my duck is live and kicking not much room left for him either. the chicks are due to go on lock down Tuesday night and the duck Thursday morning so i was thinking of locking down them all wed morning. i am currently in the proceses of building a new Cabnet incubator/ Hatcher combined which hopefully will be finished minus the alto turner this weekend so i can have use of the hatcher i still have to work out the thermostat position and some other bits before then as well.
my humidity in the current incubator is between 35/40% and temp a steady 100'
how high do you think i should raise it the hum in the hatcher keeping in mind ill also have a duck in there i was thinking 50/55% ?

Hope everyone else is having a nice time with there baking babies and not to many problems.

i noticed when i was turning the eggs this morning that on of the chick eggs has a tiny whole like someone has put a needle in the side of the egg but no cracks im hoping that it isn't anything serious fingers crossed

Chicksntexas thats cool I saw his postings looking for a good home for "Mr Peepers" lol that was really nice of you to do that for him. He/she should be fine until the rest of the eggs hatch next weekend.
As to an update everything is looking good all that I can see in when I candle are developing wonderfully!!! Looking forward to lockdown on the 18th!!!
