Eggs in Incubator..count down to May 21!!

Sounds like a great deal. If I was a little heavier into raising/selling chicks, I could see myself spending that plus more for a quality incubator. It wouldn't take long to start turning a profit.

I don't think I am going ot try to candle -- maybe do a sniff test! I have mostly Marans eggsa nd can't imagine seeing much. but do have 4 Orps, so maybe I will try them. Do also not have humidity monitor -- Hova said just fill middle tray and don't worry. It has so far been very easy to keep temps at 100 on the dot. My one idioicy was with the turner. It did not seem to be turning, so I spun th eggs a bit Then I noticed I had not hooked up the tuner to the trays

My menopausal brain again. I have lucky 13 total eggs. Nice to have buddies!

I candled mine tonight. Looks like 41 of 43 have at least the beginnings of life in them. Tonight is only day 6 for mine.

My peeps are due to hatch on may 22nd if all goes well....Il be candling for the first time on saturday nite or sunday nite.

I candled last night (day 6) definitely 3 I can see veins!

The other 4 I can't tell...and since I really don't know what I'm doing yet

I scoured threads and internet for pics to compare to...I'm so confused!!

temps & humidity are good & stable...I may candle those 4 again tonight or tomorrow....lol I may have to have a sedative before this is all over..hehe

Just found www.customincubators.com in Central US and they look to have some really good incubators. I'm looking at getting one cabinet style, 3 racks and a drawer, two bulbs and fans, separate doors for adding water and for the hatching drawer and it isn't huge.

Need to buy the turning racks separately, but I already have one and I can add more as I really need them! Advised them to recover their password and start offering them here on the auction listing so we newbies can find them more easily.

After all it is free shipping and a reasonable price! Nathan will build them custom for you to your specs, too!

Candling eggs is AWESOME. I found pictures of the heart beating somewhere online! I have really dark brown Welsummer eggs so I don't get to see much when I candle, just shadows. You're lucky to see them moving!

Just an update everything is going right on schedule. Will be moving them over to the hatcher on the 18th and then load the bator back up and start the process again lol I can't stop myself it's like an addiction
