I candled all and still don't know what I'm looking at! lol...did a sniff test too...all good! I'm already pacing!

Not looking good here...can't see any movement in any of my eggs...lots of just black blobs floating loose. Temp went to 104 one day and I don't know how long it was that high before I caught it. Of course, after opening the vents to let it cool down, I forgot to put them back in that night, and the temp went to 97. I may have ruined the entire hatch.

I candled again this evening and culled 4 that were finally able to tell they weren't doing anything all the rest are looking really good with lots of movement

Just don't get discouraged things all happen for a reason I believe let us all know the outcome as I'm sure you will. Live and learn is all you can do

So sorry Twoheadedrooster!

I've been wondering... if eggs are under a broody hen, there are temp variances all the time, right? Maybe yours will be ok!

Yay Smith Farm! Do you crack open the culled eggs or just toss them?

florasbell ~ I don't know anything about ducks (or much about chickens yet for that matter!) Everything I've read says to have the humidity up around 65% at lock down... anyone have different ideas about that?

This is me ------>

Chicksntexas I crack a few open just to see but these I didn't because I could clearly tell it was all liquid inside. Then my wife accidentally dropped one in the container we were putting them in to give em to the hogs and sure enough it looked like a scrambled egg and luckily didn't stink lol.
