Eggs in Lockdown! Hatching Blog

Trying! Have my asthma inhalers at hand, just in case!

Do I put the temperature down now, or wait until they start zipping?
Depends how many eggs you have, from my understanding the temperature only needs to go down in very large hatches- plenty of people dont bother with it. I personally didnt.

Keep us updated, I'm excited for you!!

Only the five, so I'll just maintain then. I'd be excited too if I weren't this tired! And a pessimist by nature. Been through too much in the last year. But that's neither here nor there. :)

Nothing much seems to have happened in the last 11 hours, but I understand that's normal. I'll just keep an eye on them. And not go poking holes in them.

It's so hard to wait but hopefully, they will hatch without any help. Don't forget to talk to them. I also heard of people playing duck noises while ducklings are hatching too. Suppose to help them along.
I really believe this helps, and can make all the difference!
When Dougie was hatching, I'd sit beside the incubator and sing to her, and talk to her. It was while I was singing to her and watching her egg that she externally pipped! Right before my eyes. I even heard the shell crack!
Very special time!
