I have noticed my black sex link eggs have turned white. Myself and daughter have noticed that the yellow is speckled with blood and looks like chunks of egg shell or something. She opened one and said it looked cloudy and smelly. It was laid the day before. I have 2 sexlinks so don't know which one it is. They are on a good diet and have finished molting and look healthy again. Could it be their diet? They get lots of greens and dried worms and now fresh worms and bugs. Any ideas?

Changes in eggs can be from diet, especially off odors or smell.

Gunk inside the egg often is from hens being to active and getting knocked about which can cause blood spots, and meat spots.

Cloudy can sometimes mean fresh.

I always break eggs in a separate dish, and not directly into a pan or baking bowl. You just never know what you will find.

Weird eggs can be fed back to your chickens, composted or thrown out.

Thank you for your advice. Their diet is good and all look good. I check them over all the time making sure no sores or mites. Use DE in their pen and outside area. All the other eggs are beautiful except the ones that suddenly changed from dark brown to white. I crack my eggs separately all the time. Share them with my daughter and told her to do the same as you never know. She looked up some info and it said it was salmonella. I don't know about that. She may be stressed as she finished molting. Just surprised me to see all the stuff in the egg yolk. Thanks for your info. Have a fantastic day.

Have doubts about the salmonella claim, did/would she provide a link to where she got that info?
Funky eggs can happen when a bird resumes laying after molt.
Always good to get pics of funky eggs.
