I have 1 left and it will be 21 days Tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if it's possible for a chicken to stay in longer than 21 days? I was told they could take up to 25 days to hatch.

Yes. 21 is just a guideline. 22-23 is not abbormal. 25 would be pushing it.

A egg can hatch late---22, 23, 24, 25, but what "usually" causes that is the temp is to low. Still egg incubators are worse because of the difference in the temp through out the incubator. Even some better incubators have a difference in temp.

First, are you sure today is 22? Stranger things have happened with day counts, so just being sure. Day 1 doesn't start until 24 hours after setting the eggs.

Have your temps been low? That can cause delays.

If it is truly day 22, I would candle and look for drawdown and/or movement, then assess what to do from there.

AS stated---make sure your day counting is right. """I""" would not open--what good will it do----could do a lot of bad if you do. Keep everything going---temp and humidity for a couple more days.
