Eggtopsy: What happened to my egg? {Graphic Pictures}

Pics
30 hrs ago I noticed a small "c" shaped pip in my egg. It was the middle of the egg. It was wiggling yesterday. Just now I decided to open the pip a bit to help out. As I did, I only found fluid. I could not find a beak. This led my curiosity to make a small hole into the air sac. Once I did, fluid ran out. No air sac, and no chick! Only a very undeveloped embryo. It wasn't formed. How in the heck was the egg moving??????? Four different people sat and watched this egg move yesterday. Was it going to explode?? It does not smell...

I just did an eggtopsy, it was only day 22 but I had not seen movement in this one for a few days, and the first egg hatched sat morning (2 days ago). Also when candled it seemed to move only when I turned the egg... sure enough when I opened it there was extra liquid behind the membrane that was flowing causing movement when turned (hopefully that makes sense) there was no movement at all from the chick, so I opened it, right away yellow fluid started coming out, it appeared like maybe the yolk had ruptured, can this happen just from them moving!? The chick looked fully developed... I have been having humidity issues due to a malfunctioning hygrometer, could this extra fluid be caused by too high of humidity? There was one egg that was added a day late, and it still appears to be moving, is there anything I can do to save this one if the humidity is too high? If I lower it now will it make a difference? The strangest thing is we had one hatch early, and without any assistance at all, so if it could why can't these others?

Just did my first eggtopsy on three quitters that I pulled before lockdown. They obviously quit well before that. They're shipped eggs that were abandoned by the broody about a week in, so I'm not entirely sure what did them in. Two had what appeared to be thick blood rings in the shell, so I think that means bacteria?

Anyways, pictures of the embryos:

Ok, this was our first hatch. We had 3 hatch right on schedule and 4 not at all. Today was 25 days with no sign if life so I went ahead and did the eggtopsies.
2 were completely underdeveloped, I'm new to this so maybe someone can further explain a timeline and reason? Here is one of those

One looked like the organs developed externally. Again, I'm new to chickens but have experience with mammals. It was also not facing to right direction. Here is that one.

The final one I'm not sure about, other than it was not facing the correct direction to pip but does seem fully developed.

I would love any input on these. I'd like to learn from it if at all possible and see where I can do better next time.
Thanks!!

Hello there, could you possibly advise me on wether the pigeon egg my son found 10days ago is still alive? It was perfectly fine up until yesterday

when it just started to look weird. Now it seems rather watery in there and there is just a black blob that seems to move when i rotate the egg. No more movement noticed, still see veins but can't tell if there is a blood ring or not. I am a total newbie. Also unfortunately i am ashamed to admit that i thought it would be easy and made a home made incubator, it was only after reading alot of information that i realised it's not easy at all. By this point i felt it was too late to buy an incubator

I shall also NEVER be doing this again. I really wanted to give the little guy a fighting chance and the look on my son and nieces faces i had to try. Lesson learned never again.

This was over the 10days

I'm so sad right now...

This is my first time hatching chicken, I had hatched quails before. I got 8 shipped eggs of variety breeds - maran, olive egger, cream legbar...
I used my homemade incubator (I bought a hova bator but couldn't get the temp up right). 7 days in, I tossed 2 infertile eggs. 14 days in, tossed another blood ring egg.

Because the temp has been low so my eggs didn't hatch on day 21. On day 24 (2 days ago) I did the floating test and all were moving except for one. Today I checked and there was a pip on one of the eggs. I WAS SO EXCITED. But the humidity was down to 55 which made me nervous. I kept checking up on the chick but I didn't see any movements or sounds. I decided to do an eggtopsy.

The inner membrane was white so I guessed it was dried out? But the chick didn't seem too dried out. It has positioned right too...I'm not sure what happened. I still have some eggs left and I'm kinda anxious right now. I should have gotten baby chicks instead and waited until I could get my hands on a Brinsea to try hatching. Hatching eggs is fun but when a chick can't make it, it's very heartbreaking :(.

She had beautiful black down, would have been a beautiful girl.

Sorry!! Hatching can be heart breaking some times. Why was your temp Low and not corrected in the beginning? Chicks that are incubated in low temps can cause a lot of problems for them---even if some did hatch.

The membrane should be white. I would guess with the low temps, and seeing the chick that wet, I'd bet on low temps and too high humidity thru the first 18 days.

How do you air cells look on the remaining eggs?

The membrane was white and kinda rubbery so that's why I thought it had to do with low humidity.
Temp was pretty consistent for the first 18 days. Day 19 and 20 temp was down to 95 (had 2 therms one showed 95, one showed 97) when I checked. So that's why I thought of late hatch.
I'll check on the aircells tonight and let you know.
It's a homemade incubator too so it's not easy to quickly adjust the temp. I might just get the eco brinsea mini to try again - something easier.

Thanks!

The rest didn't make it. I opened them up and they all had a lot of fluid inside so you were right. It must had happened during the last 1 or 2 days because they were moving when I checked on day 24. Only one didn't position right, pipped a vessel inside. One made through the inner membrane but didn't make it in time. I'm very upset but a lot of lesson learned here for me. :(
