Eglu Go coop for the tropics.. ventilation issues?

Open air and noise containment do not go together.

Darkness will not stop crowing...but the eglu might contain most the sound.
A large solid roof and small holed(1.27cm) mesh walls...
...but it's not something you can buy, you'd have to build it.

5 weeks should show the males soon via color of combs.
Can post pics of them and their heads here:

Would an open style coop be able to:

1. Keep light out past sunrise (otherwise the Roos will crow and my neighbour 2m away will have lots to say)

2. Keep rats, snakes and civet cats out.

3. Be rain proof

1. Doubt there's anything practical that you could put on to dampen noise and light. Even with the Eglu I doubt that would dampen sound THAT much.

2. Yes, if you're thorough in securely covering every gap or space larger than 1/2" with wire mesh, and either bury or apron more wire at least 2' out or more.

3. A big roof overhang would help. For sideways rain, if that's an issue, you'd need to install some sort of waterproof curtain that you could raise or lower or removable panels.
