This is #2 of the EE 'pullets' I picked up last week. Not sure of age...was told 8 weeks. In last week, I'm become certain Ella is really an Ellis...3 row pea comb, red on shoulders, a lot of black....she's just too flashy to be a she at this age. And I feel the slightest of spurs starting. I know the 3 row pea comb isn't definitive but can't shake the thought that I have 2 roolings. You've confirmed my suspicions on #1....here's #2. Funny...in real life, 'he' acts and stands more like a pullet but in these photos, I'm even more convinced it's a he!

I'm terrible at sexing chickens, but I can tell you that all 77 of my day olds have tiny bumps on their legs, and there are at least 60 hens.
Mine have bumps too but they're usually really flat and these feel a little more prominent :/ It's the first time I've ever noticed that on a chick and I have no experience with EEs so it could just be that some are like that. Crossing my fingers that everyone says pullet as I really like the bird but my roo-dar is beeping :/

I want to say rooster but nothing is really sticking out to represent that, the feathers aren't shiny and the feathers are rounded, hmm it might be best to wait a little bit longer :)
I sure hope you're right! For not really being handled, the bird is docile enough. A bit hard to catch but settles down once I have him/her. And s/he's beautiful (for that teen/raptor stage hahaha). I just know myself too well and the more time I have it in my care, the more attached I'll become :(
