Emergency! Babies in storm drain! Update: They are safe!

If she does so and it causes the drain to clog with debris and cause flooding, she could cause serious damage to other people and ruin her life with criminal and civil liabilities. Let's be sensible, people. The drain is constructed that way for a reason. Don't try to change things that don't belong to you that you don't understand.
Did they suck them up with a shop vac? I'm surprised it didn't kill them.

Why so negative? This person did an amazing thing and saved LIVES! So let’s just focus on that. And I agree that it might be a bad idea to cover the drain, but I also think it’s worth it if it prevents this from reoccurring!

I agree it was great idea. Not being negative; I just couldn't figure out how she did it as I was assuming she used a larger shop vac which would have violently sucked them into the canister..

I think the original suggestion called for a larger shopvac, that's why he said to use a sock on the end so they didnt get sucked up into it. :) but I only have small ones, easier to manipulate. Which turns out to be a good thing because the larger one wouldn't have fit between the grate slats.

Poop is normal. Otherwise I would be sending pics to @casportpony
Is there something like "normal" poop with ducks? - I opened up a new patch of grass for my ducks yesterday and they stuffed themselves full to the brim with fresh greens. Today their poop looks like slimy green diarrhea - which is completely normal for my crazy ducks…
