EMERGENCY: EARLY SHIPMENT OF EGGS

For Christmas a family member gave me a promise of guinea fowl eggs in the spring. They just sent me an Email that says that they will get here TOMORROW! It is 9:44 at night where I live! My only incubator has a large egg turner but the eggs will be half that size! I know NOTHING about guinea fowl. What should I do? Can I just not use the egg turner and have them on the metal mesh? It is a Fall Harvest Products incubator. Thank you!

I've put guinea eggs in my auto turner (I use it for bantam eggs too, though its meant for standard sized eggs), I don't see why you couldn't either. Since yours will be shipped (mine were too), I'd leave the turner unplugged for the first few days to allow the air cells to stabilize if they get detached in the shipping process. You could put then in cartons and lay them on the wire when the air cells look good.
Guinea take 26-28 days to hatch vs the 21 for chicken eggs.

I've not done Guinea before, are these eggs being shipped to you? You may want to use cartons for them if they have damaged air sacs. Hatching eggs 101 has a good section on misshapen air sacs ~

If the air sacs are good and intact you will be fine to hand turn them.

The second ink was great! Thanks! Good news! There was a misunderstanding between the egg suplier and my family, so the eggs will not get here until spring! Yay! So I don't have to worry about that for a while! Thanks anyways!
