EMERGENCY! Rooster needs help to keep surviving

That’s a gamecock.
Regardless of breed, I do not think his owner intended for this to happen to his bird. If the bird was raised with that sort of thing in mind then the owner wouldn’t be on here asking for help in making him better. And I and many others here feel that the OP is genuine in his concern for his bird. And if you don’t have anything nice (or helpful) to say... then please don’t.

That’s a gamecock.
A gamecock that has not been dubbed, so was likely never intended to be a fighter. Game cocks are generally very docile towards humans, which makes them good pets, as long as you don't have more than one male in a pen. Until there is proof otherwise, I stand by the decision to help this poster and the roo. Even if it ends up as The Boy Who Cried Wolf, I won't be the villager who doubted and ignored the shepherd while the wolves kill the flock. If there's a chance, we are obligated to help. It's why we're all here.

So? Not everyone fights gamecocks.
Yes I know. For what it’s worth that looks to be a 2yr old grey/hatch gamecock. This bird just wandering around a yard would be willing to fight another rooster. They aren’t trained by people. I may be totally wrong and if I am I will be the first to admit it and apologize.

Let’s hope you are wrong........
