EMERGENCY! Rooster needs help to keep surviving

That's awful! The poor fella...people that get a kick out of making animals fight have something seriously wrong with them. I cannot stand people that abuse animals...I certainly hope your neighbors get what they deserve for doing this to your poor roo.

Everyone here has given you some great advice. I wish the best for you and your roo! (and the worst for your neighbors ;))

I'm so so sorry about your poor rooster:) Prayers for his recovery, but he has been severely traumatized to his head and his heavy breathing is not a good sign. Like others have said, keep him warm and quiet, but prepare as this might not have a happy ending. I had a guinea that was attacked by a hawk and even though he was alive with a severely damaged eye (white part was showing), the next morning... he had a seizure and died likely due to neurological trauma to the brain. I would keep him near you so you can check on him. So so sorry !!!

Glad that you are taking good care of him. You may want to get a lock for his pen when he recovers and goes outside again. It is unbelievable that someone near you would take your rooster without permission, and get him hurt for entertainment. If you can get some Poultry Cell or NutriDrench, those are good things for sick chickens in emergencies, that contain electrolytes, vitamins, and other good ingredients. For a rooster. 3 ml a day is the daily dosage, 2 for a hen, and 1 ml for a small or bantam.
