Emotionally weak - pet ducks

You obviously love your ducks very much.
Are you sure you are not also stressing them more by paying at lot of attention to them?

Perfect. I will start giving her. She’s trying for perfect eggs too. It’s just that by the evening she’s all tired and breathing heavy. She does not quack much and her tail keeps moving up and down.

She’s laid a thick shelled egg in the morning today. With a lot of calcium deposit on it. Not a perfect egg thou. She’s getting there. I can see it. How many days should I give her medicines?

I'd keep her on for at least a week. Then see how she is laying if it starts again just start over with the calcium. That is great news.

I have a chicken who lays eggs with calcium on them I don't think it's anything to worry about.

How old is she again? and when did this start laying soft shell?

She turned a year old. She started laying soft eggs after she came back from the foster home. It’s been a week now and from then on she’s laying soft eggs.

When I would get back from a deployment I would spend extra time with my ducks. Not in a stress full way. I would talk to them and just sit in the grass by the pool. I will also before opening the coop put a chair or sit in the grass and greet them by name as they come out. We are part of their flock at all times so when I come home they just welcome me back like a duck that's been inside in the hospital room. The more time you spend with them the better. I personally don't give treats, because they are Spoiled rotten and get treats all the time. I just stay with the flock. It does take time and patience

Pre-natal vitamins in apple sauce is what we use for soft eggs. It has always worked for me.

Your ducks will eat applesauce? Man mine must be picky things I can smooch a small piece of bread around a pill and get them to take it that way that is about it.
