empy box from Murray mcmurray

LOL, hadn't thought about that! Its as:rolleyes: plausible as any other reason for doing it I guess!

The lost seeds sound more likely that the envelope was cut by machinery while in transit.

The lost chicks could have been the result of a poorly attached lid, and chicks who got dumped out somewhere in transit. That makes me

. MM should replace them, as careless packaging resulted in an empty shipment.

I feel your frustration with mcmurray the first batch i got from them i ordered 29 chicks i put my order in for them back in october of last year to make sure i got the types i wanted so finally it came time to get them and i go to the post office and 11 were not alive when i got them and two more died in route i was upset at how they were shipped and looked in the box so i called customer support and they said all they could do was to refund me my money or send out the ones that didnt make so i decided to give them another chance to make it right and that was mistake number 2 i got the second batch a week later and every single one was not breathing and squished in the corners i felt bad for the chicks they didnt even have a chance si i called customer support and demanded they refund me my full payment and wanted a manager to call me to talk about it and still to this day i havent heard from them so my point is if your know of another hatcherie to order from i would reccomend going through someone else but thats just my opinion and story.

Im still not sure MM was at fault. But to be on the safe side I will continue to use Ideal Hatchery, the boxes were sealed with plastic straps and all the chicks lived through the delivery and are doing very well to date. Except I lost one little barred rock pullet a couple of days after recieving them for no apparent reason? 1 death out of 30 is sad but it could have been worse I guess. the only difference between the orders was my first order was for 13 pullets and they sent 6 little boys with them for warmth, and all of them are still alive and well, the second order was for 11 pullets and no males were added for warmth, the the temps were in the 60s as apposed to the 20's for the first order, and I lost one of them. It was hard so I can imagine what the person that lost the whole shipment of chicks is feeling.
I did try and call MM to find out what there shipping policies and practices were but the line was busy, I did call my local post office and asked what and how the chicks had to be shipped. I did ask if they had to use the straps and the PO lady said no, but the lids had to be secured some way, What that means I have no Idea? But again I will stick with Ideal as I have been very happy with them so far. Good luck to everyone on there chick shipments and hope never to hear a story like this again. It is just heartbreaking to say the least. Sandy

what probably happen was someone wanted to peak at the birds... and didn't bother to shut the box again. There is probably little chicks running around in all the post ofiices between Iowa and you.....

When I got to my PO once they had my ducks out on a table and were feeding them crackers and giving them water.......

A few of the ducklings had died during transit... they gave me a lecture of how they should be shipped next-day...

You know what absolutely kills me? It's the lack of emotion that seems to be expressed when something this happens - by both parties (Post and Hatchery).

I keep writing and rewriting trying to get my words out, but quite honestly I'm too frustrated when I think about it.

my monday order was taped and staples shut.
the PO called at 730 and at 740 I was there, its usually a 3 minute drive to the PO but with the snow storm it took me a few extra minutes.
when I got there, rang the bell and said I was there for a chick pick up the woman looked at me and said GOOD their driving me nuts.
I looked at her and said how nuts can they make you in 10 minutes, turned my heel and left geesh.
our Po is not noted for being um what word do I want here.
our RR driver had a nasty habit of holding mail for a week before sending it off to its destination.
3 times he made my mortgage payment be late doing this.
when I complained I was not so nicely told to remove my self.
I called the Post Master General and complained.
If your mail isnt handled properly You do hav the right to call the PM General and let them know whats happening.
