Ok so I have two emu eggs I set April 19. I believe they are overdue but I hear them pipping inside...no whistling yet. 97 degrees, 30% humidity in the bator. Should I give up hope. Got me a stethoscope and I can hear them! I have no clue why I am not having emus yet. Patience is key but I had a baby die in the shell a while back and I don't want that to happen again.

I can hatch pretty much anything and emus are hard to hatch so I understand if they are duds BUT I swear there is something inside...

I can hear a clock ticking inside. That's my cue for internal pip normally in other species. It makes me nervous though...

Is the egg rocking? I would think that would be your main clue. I could tell when mine had internally pipped by the levelness of the egg and I could feel the chick moving around inside.

ticking like a bomb? mine scratched whistled squeeked breathed rocked rolled and recited poe. but do not help them there is nothing you can do but kill them by trying. no struggle no life.
