Emu pictures and stories.... post them here

breathing is fine except when he does that then he makes a sort of grunting noise but only sometimes he chats with sister all day, he seems perfectly healthy except when he is doing his little tucked up motion, he does it for like a minute then he shakes his head and like 'snaps out of it'...I'm hoping the vitamins tlc and low stress environment will help....

Hmm, I don't have emu yet

but the way he's acting, almost like there's a "hurt" coming from his tummy, or underside. Will he let you flip him over and take a good look at his belly? look deep under the baby fuzz, maybe a sticker or splinter even. I had a large hen doing that same thing, and found a hawthorn stuck in her tummy, poor baby! I pulled it, cleaned thoroughly and now she is just fine.

Hey, Ellamumu. Welcome!

Ella seems like a lovely bird. We gotta have a emoos-whats-names-start-with-‘e’ competition:

Eric (and Mrs. Eric) and Ella and I’m sure there’s an ‘Elijah.’

I got an E for ya. Looks like I might have a girl here so as Gerry is named after Gerry Harding from Jurassic Park, this new Emu shall be named Ellie. If it does turn out to be a boy he'll be named Eli instead.

Her hatch couldn't have gone better, barely even a drop of blood too, all in just 6 hours from the time she pipped to till she kicked her egg off. Already she's very active and spent awhile crawling around her cage, and oh boy does she love to be pet, I stick my hand in there and she comes crawling right over quick as she can, just 8 hours old.

And this has got to be the best spazzy dance video I've ever seen.

Kathy maybe your next video could be "bowling with emus" just line them up and let Kayson roll balls at them. Fred is so neat, if his leg didn't bother him I think he would be very animated, I know he wants to.

Made an abridged video of my hatch, this time at full speed.

She really is a wild one too, quite a personality. She was up and walking around not even 24 hours out of her egg, and she's been running around her cage all day, then she'll flop down and kick her legs in the air before deciding she's tired and going back to her warm spot for a nap.
