I have been getting my ducks Little Tikes Climbers and now a Little Tikes playhouse for them to get shade under. It is soo cute how they 'play' and hide under them. I don't have the house in their kennel yet, but I am really hoping one of them will make a nest in it and hatch some of their own darn eggs! Never had a broody!! And tips for encouraging broodiness?? LOL

I have a little call cross named Katy. All I have to do is point at a rock and say EGG! and she is instantly broody.

Well, almost anyway.

Pekins (which I know it is extremely rare that they go broody), and then a small brown mutt type duck. My other girls are only about 4 months old... Anconas, Khakis, and a Swede.

Mine are mallards and just kinda did it on their own. Make sure that you have nesting materials in the corners of the yard and pen, a duck house too, although mine didn't want to use it (I move their nest there, THEN they got the idea) and food and water nearby.
