END OF FEB. HATCH-ALONG, ANYONE?

if it pips bby tomorrow i'll just leave it alone but yeah some kind of glue could work otherwise... good suggestion! i've heard dripping candle wax alone the crack works sometimes too, but since these eggs are under a broody i don't want her to peck at it enough to either damage the egg or eat it...

Thanks chevynova- maybe I'll do that. I'm worried about changing anything too much since they have made it this far!
Tinychick- an egg with a bandaid! That's totally cute! I wonder if you could get tissue glue. It is fairly safe stuff. Tissue glue is used on human wounds in the medical field (super glue is not the same thing- different base). Hmmmmm.......

I had one that cracked earlier in this hatch. Some threads here say you can use nail polish to seal a crack, but as soon as I tried it the fumes made me think it might be a bad idea. I threw the egg away a few days later, but I don't know for sure if it died naturally or if it was the nail polish. I don't think I'll be trying that method again, just to be safe.

Out of curiosity- those of you who hatch large numbers of chicks.....what do you do with them all? I went to pick up another feeder & waterer while they were still on sale and they had Silkie chicks. Ahhhhhhh! I couldn't resist & picked up 3.

I have five pips this morning out of five fertile eggs!

My Ideal Hatchery chicks also came! i had a couple spraddle legged and one with crooked toes, but otherwise everyone's fine! 4 Cochins (Buff, White, Blue/splash, and Mottled), 4 Rocks (2 Buff, a White, and a Partridge), 14 EE's of various colors, a GS Hamburg, a Buff Naked Neck, and, just for fun, a Saipan Game! I also recieved one packing peanut that looks like either a silver pheonix or beardless, single combed EE, i'm not sure....
single comb, light yellowish/willow shanks, silver duckwing like down color, smaller than my EE's....

anyway, here's some cuteness to hold you all over until your chicks hatch!

my three handicap chicks, left to right, partridge rock, EE, and GS Hamburg.
Buff Rock. once one starts drinking....

....they all have to! loock how much they drank in the three hours they've been home! that water was full this morning!

the feeder's pretty popular too...

this one looks dead doesn't it? LOL

not dead, just sleepy :)

what do you think, blue or splash?

there's me and the mottled cochin baby!

I sell some, keep some for breeding and eat some for dinner.

I have my first pip today can't wait to see who comes out.

Such pretty fluffs!
