English Shepherd as Poultry Guardian

Looks like we have found a friend for Ben. Fellow just over 30 minutes away has a pup that will meet our needs. Very high on list is it has white on it so I can actually discern dog in the dark. He still will not pose for a good photograph.

Intact dogs of any sex can attract coyotes. English shepherds are great dogs but need A lot of work or they will find something to do which always isn't good. A good one definitely can kill coons and anything else it desires.

NO!!! They can repel better than neutered. Where does this BS keep coming from, vets?

Picked out a female pup with white on it so we can see her easier after dark. Will get her in about 2 weeks. Kids will be excited, but not nearly as much as the adult dogs.

Congrats on finding a new pup. It will be interesting to see if she comes along quicker with Ben there as an instructor.

She will have Lucy as an imstuctor also. It is likely Lucy will be working closer when I'm field. Ben seems more interested in canids.

Female pup acquired. Source has two more.

We are into introduction / acclimation process. Keeping pup clear of fences for now. When pup is ready, then a lower output charger will be put on. Training will be more intensive with this pup.

I love her gaze! She is fixed on her person and looking to see what they are doing so she doesn't miss anything... I like seeing that in a pup.
