English Shepherd as Poultry Guardian

Pups demonstrating a preference when it comes to puppy feed. One brand they like a lot. Another they eat well, but not as well as the first. Another locally produced brand they are really slow to eat. Chickens appear to have similar preferences when pups not chasing them out.

Down to 4 puppies. Looks like sable is popular. Persons not familiar with English Shepherds were skeptical about parentage owing to color variation of pups. I am not certain I made case that Honey and Ben are omnipotent when it comes to range of colors they could throw.

Then we took male pup with us to get a Christmas tree. We were only customers at a farm that typically had a hundred plus customers at a time. Pup got a lot of attention from staff. I got my annual shot of hot chocolate with marshmallows.

The more socialization the better. Sorry to hear about the poor customer turn out for the farm though.

Fellow I got Honey from has announced a litter of puppies for sale. I can provide contact information for those interested. Honey has proven to be a very good farm dog that learns commands very quickly.

The litter will be 8 weeks old this week.

We are getting a lot of sleet. Our puppies handling cold very well. Having some issues with heated water bowl. Also running 6 like it at work for chickens. Hopefully they doing better.

Pups having a blast playing in snow with mom and Lucy. Adult dogs now concerned with making sure pups know their place.

They are running better each day. Honey and pups appear interested in trying to move in under a shed.

I think part of it might be the fluff. Looking pretty fluffy here haha

Lucy (wire-haired German Pointer) is a spayed eight year old that is rationed feed yet has no trouble finding eats by hunting it up or working on a carcass. For me, keeping neutered dogs and cats s in good weight is difficult. She is also fighting arthritis. Can still lick even the toughest raccoon in a fair fight.
