Ever eat your husbands cooking?

He cooks almost as much as I do, I make the more complicated things but he definitely pulls his weight. I can't eat his eggs though, any way he prepares them makes me gag. I'm particular about my eggs, they need to be just so. He's ruined a couple things with his hot sauce though, I was ticked when he put almost an entire bottle in chili, I couldnt eat it. Maybe he is just clever....

Several years ago I had surgery and was all drugged up and tucked away in our bedroom while dh was taking care of the kids. I went into the kitchen to get another pain med when I noticed him stirring something in a loaf pan. I went over and asked what it was because I sure didn't recognize it! But then, I was all drugged up.

Apparently he'd decided to cook some dinner for the kids. In a loaf pan he'd placed raw white rice, a package of ramen noodles and their seasoning packet, water and....uncooked, unsoaked beans! He had then proceeded to bake this for two hours and when I came out was wondering why it wasn't cooked?! I just stared at him for a moment before popping my pill and telling him to go to McDonalds because he "wasn't feeding that to my kids" before staggering back down the hallway. Talk about a carb overload! lol I've never let him live it down either! It's one of the perks.

A.T. Hagan :

Last night I made French toast with whipped cream and strawberries for supper. The girls had the rest of it for breakfast this morning (sans whipped cream)

The night before it was broiled chicken breasts that had marinated in white wine, extra virgin olive oil, rosemary, garlic, and black pepper.

The night before that was southern style pot roast with rice, gravy, and steamed vegetables.

Last weekend I made chocolate muffins for breakfast on Sunday, waffles for breakfast on Saturday.

I also bake all of the bread my family eats using flour that I mill myself.

So, yes, my family eats my cooking pretty much every day.

.....Alan.

awww you rock!

Mine is a Brit so sauces are his thing... curry, chili etc. Hot Hot Hot.... lol, I love it when he cooks which generally only happens at week end because he's out running the dogs etc.... but I am delivered the best coffee in the world every morning at 5:30

Anyone noticing a common theme with their cooking...?

My hubby can cook. We both love cooking. He made me a nice breakfast yesterday; scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese grits and added some fruit to the plate as well - blueberries.

The other night, he made from scratch a honey mustard dressing to accompany the grilled chicken salad he made

He also makes General Tso's chicken, stir fry's, fresh fish with parmesan crusts and home made hush puppy's.

He's GREAT at cooking. I have a brother who also loves to cook.

It's one of our things we like to do for each other.
