Maybe I could save some of Colton's pain pills to take before the flight. If they knock him out, I imagine I wouldn't know what was going on either! Btw, he let Des help him with his shower this afternoon.

That's hardcore ...

... but when you're hurting and REALLY need HELP .. all modesty or inhibitions just go out the window ...

Now thats a brave boy to let sis help him with his shower

It is so cool that they are close like they are. Makes me wish my sister was someone I liked

I always wanted Raymond to have a sibling. It is a possibility that his friend may be coming to live with us. There is something going on with his family that he has been put in foster care. To avoid being sent to live with relatives out of state he asked Raymond if we would let him stay with us. We discussed it and decided it would be nice to have another kid around, even if it is only until he graduates. I am not sure what the legalities are or if it is even possible, but this boy (he is 16) is going to have his lawyer/advocate call us.

Duck eggs? Did I hear that Michelle is incubating duck eggs? We aren't quite "pregnant" together but I'll have eggs incubating soon, too. I have some ordered from quaillady. I have her "rare" color assortment ordered so I can have some variety, not just wild colors. I'm hoping to get some girls in the batch!

I kept going round and round with myself debating ordering these in spring. Figured I might as well get them on their way to adulthood now! Plus, if I wait much later in the year there is no guarantee I can get them before spring. Between birds that might decide to take a winter break and then a post office that might freeze the eggs, I figured I'd better get them before it gets much later! So, I guess I'll have a hatch sometime in mid to late November. I did just order the one dozen assortment, though. I can't imagine trying to take two dozen through the winter inside! I'll have to figure out just how I'm going to transition them to the cooler winter. I'm thinking I'll need to do some rearranging in the bird room and put them in there during the cold months. That seems most sensible. In fact, I'm thinking that's going to be my plan. I'll keep them in the basement until they get too stinky, then transport to bird room. Or, who knows, I might put them in the bird room even younger since I can do more out there then!

Exhausted tonight...thinking of lighting a fire because it's freaking COLD outside but then I think it's too much work tonight, LOL. I'll wait til tomorrow...

Good Morning! It is cool at there this morning. We are under a freeze warning for tonight. It will be chilly at the game tonight!!

The duck eggs were set on the 17th, I believe. They have been neglected lately so I don't know how they will do. I think there were 47 that we put in, is that right Tanya? I can't even remember, there are a ton of them! I am sure some were old too, we just raided the house and took what was in it. We didn't realize they had really started laying yet. I am also going to guess all 4 we got this spring are female.

We got Colton set up with a twin bed in our room so I could have my bed back. Carol had one that is tall, so he can get in it easier. She even packed Sesame Street sheets for him!

Unfortunately, he fell asleep on the couch and didn't make it in there last night. We took him to school for a little bit yesterday. He got to see some teachers and friends and went to beginning of practice. He only lasted about an hour and was ready for nap time. He ended up sleeping through most of senior supper, but hubby took him for a while. He stayed about 30 minutes and was back to sleep again. We are planning on taking him to the game tonight.

Freddie should get his inside splints taken out today since they didn't do that last week. He will have the outside ones for at least another week. He came out to visit last night.

Lindsey made it through surgery. I didn't talk to her parents, but Colton and hubby did. They put in several steel plates and screws. (can't remember the number but it was close to 30) They did get her nose pretty well rebuilt too. They are thinking it may be her only surgery. The only thing bothering me is they told hubby (not Colton) that she should be in a regular room in about 2 weeks and they will start checking for brain damage more then.

It was either set the eggs or throw them out, so we set them. I was talking myself out of it when hubby said to go ahead. I have no idea at all what to do with them. If we have a ton, I will put them out on Tonna's pond. She was going to get more this spring anyway. They are all mutts so it will be interesting if they hatch what they look like. You should have seen the look on Destiny's face when I kept pulling them out of the hut!

They are keeping Lindsey sedated. Have been since the accident. She got really excited when her dad came in Monday, so now if anyone goes to visit, they have to keep quiet and not let her know they are there. Des bought her a small stuffed tiger in the gift shop from us and her parents gave it to her to hold and said she was gripping it and fumbling with it but they didn't tell her yet where it came from yet.

aww how sweet for the tiger! Sad to say something this traumatic really changes people for the better-meaning maybe when she is recovering she will see just how awesome you guys are and be a sweetie?? I do hope so-at least for Coltons sake-

The ducks will be so cool mutts are the best what are the parents??

Frank, our mallard is the daddy. The females are a pekin, black cayuga, khaki campbell and a brown runner. I assume they are all females and all laying anyway.
