Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

We are still having our Halloween open house Sunday and we have done hardly anything to get ready for it yet. I haven't even decided on a costume. Time has just gotten away from us! Carol has suggested we just wrap Colton up like a mummy, but I was more in favor of him being a crash test dummy.

1) I'm glad Lindsey made it through. The brain damage issue is a real concern but it is possible to make a better recovery from many types of brain damage today than it used to be. My experience has more been with people whose damage was a result of tumors, but its amazing what powers we have to recuperate and live a normal life.
2) Glad Colton has a bed to himself again!
3) Woman you are NUTS. 47 duck eggs? FORTY-SEVEN? Even if HALF of them hatch...even if a QUARTER of them hatch you are going to be OVER-RUN with ducklings! (Says the person waiting in line for her dozen quail eggs to live in her garage when she already has about 40 birds...)

Do you want me to run that shower chair over? I could bring it over this afternoon? It isn't that long a drive for me, really. Or, I could bring it after office hours tomorrow or on Saturday. If it would help Colton (or those who must damage his showering dignity) then I really have NO problem bringing it over at all. There would be no rush to get it back...just eventually would do!

wow those are going to be coool babies!!! especially the runners-Im so partial to them right now because I have 2 runner girls and they are prolific layers-never missed a day in 6 months!!!

Nat - what do you do with your duck eggs?

Do you eat them?

Cook with them?

I've heard good and bad about them .. DH loves duck eggs.. but we aren't set up to have ducks ................ yet.

I used to have ducks! I ate every last egg. They were just fine!

My favorite eggs are actually my quail eggs. They have a slightly richer taste and are SO creamy! Supposed to be higher in a number of vitamins, too.

Thank you for the offer, but he wants to stand up in the shower. Him being a foot taller than Des or I is what creates the problem. She said she put on her flip flops yesterday and stood on the edge of the tub to reach his hair! He can do quite a bit himself, but still trying to build up that right arm and with him being on the medication, we don't want him to fall in the tub. My neighbor friends also has a handicap accessible tub/shower we could try if we need to. Hopefully he will be on his own in a few days. But, I really appreciate the offer. Everyone on here is so wonderful to each other and it is nice to know I can log in and find friends to count on. (Even nicer when they surprise me by showing up!!)

They have been neglected for a few days, so we might not have any at all. Where in the heck am I going to brood them? I have not a clue. Guess we will cross that cold snowy bridge when we get to it!

No problem! Teenage boys don't want to feel "helpless." Sitting in the shower might make them feel that way. He will probably be totally fine on his own before long. HA HA. I could have surprised you just by showing up.

Mine are going to have to get brooded either in the basement or (begads) in the bird room! I "really" don't want them inside til SPRING so it's almost got to be the bird room. (It's not like I can take them from the warm to the cold during the winter!)

Oh my, you won't just be brooding them. You will have duckings in for the whole winter, won't you... or will you be able to gradually get them used to the cold in the garage?

That would be great, but I definitely want a few days to rest first. One of Colton's friends showed up right as we got home Tuesday night and when we woke up last night Freddie was there waiting on us. I was happy to see the boys, but sleep sounded so much better!
