Ever feel lonely when you dont have any PM's waiting for you?

They will probably be fine in the garage for a while with the heat lamp. We burn wood when it gets really super cold, but until then we just use a portable one to keep the chill off while the boys work out there. If all else fails, (and starts stinking) we do have an extra room in the coop that we could move them in until spring. Hubby was supposed to stop me from setting them, not encourage me! lol

Yes, I am! I was caught in a weak moment!

They have been neglected for a few days, so we might not have any at all. Where in the heck am I going to brood them? I have not a clue. Guess we will cross that cold snowy bridge when we get to it!

Thanks!

Oh never fear, I'm not one for dropping in without checking with folks well in advance. I also tend not to go when folks are ill or have emergencies unless I know I'm going to be more help than hindrance (i.e. going to a relative to cook for them and help them when they are not mobile at all). I am one of those folks that recharges by NOT having a lot of people around so I never drop unannounced 'cause I know that for some folks that adds stress (it does for me especially if I'm under the weather!) We'll get you past all this craziness then get together.

Remember, with all this on your shoulders, make sure you are taking a few minutes a day to do something for you to recharge. Even if that is just going and standing with your birds for five minutes at a time admiring them and talking to them...

MWahahahaha. She may end up with 47 ducklings...

OMG what a nightmare. I love ducks but 47 would about do me in...

That is why I came back to work so soon, it is kinda nice to get away. I have also been trying to spend some time with Thunder and I need to give Jasper some much needed attention. Just kick back and relax for a little bit would be great, but life seems to just keep going whether I am ready for it to or not.

We are leaving for Plattsburg this afternoon for the game. Tomorrow night we are going over to watch Milan play.

I will just keep on posting. I have 2 things I found out earlier today that I haven't mentioned yet. (I don't think anyway) Freddie got his inside splints out. Two more weeks for his outside ones and Colton got scout team player of the week for the second time this season. He was happy when I told him, but he seemed bummed at the timing!

Hope all goes well for Freddie! And, congrats for Colton.

Also, you can't ship me any birds! It's sad, too. I'd be HAPPY to take some ducks. I could give them a spectacular home! I have a pool that holds something like 12,000 to 15,000 gallons and I don't swim HA HA. Of course, the pump and filter don't work. The deep end is something like 6 1/2 to 7 foot deep or something like that. It has steps. It has a chain link fence around it, with a few corners with grass (not that ducks would leave it grassy long, but hey, that would be GOOD. I intend on killing that grass.) Around the chain link fence further out, my back yard has a six foot wood privacy fence. There is a patio, too, that would serve as shelter. See, I have it all planned out. However, it would be a code violation...a very, very obvious code violation once they started quacking. And, well, my property is situated in a very public way where it WOULD be noticed, LOL. Everyone in the neighborhood would know after the first quack...

Ahem. This hasn't stopped me from considering some Serama hens, though. Not going to do it, though. The biosecurity issues with having both chickens and quail are a bit bothersome. They shouldn't be together because chickens can carry (and not get sick from) things that can make quail sick. I just don't want to deal with keeping them separate under these conditions.

Hello everyone!! Holy cow did I miss tons of talk today

Sorry about that, we ended up running to town for "a few" which turned out to be most of the darn day

That sounds lovely. Raymond is the one that keeps asking for ducks, Kenny said I am not allowed to add to my guinea flock, bummer, but he hates them. Oh well, the gal down the road is going to give me some of her chickens. I ran into her while we were in the feed store today. Her coop isn't insulated and she doesn't want to mess with doing what it takes to secure them for the winter. They just started laying and I have 17 hens ands am getting 1 egg, sometimes 2 a day. Most of mine are going on 3 years old so a few young ones will be nice.
