yep agree, happy you are feeling better Elizabeth.

The weekend was great. DSD had 5 teeth pulled Friday and did awesome. She and i actually went to Augusta shopping Saturday afternoon. i bought two pair of jeans, a new shirt and she bought a pair of jeans, a shirt, a dress and a pair of shoes--she paid for it all except the jeans, i bought them for her. She is working girl now and is enjoying that new money coming in.

sunday i played in the yards most of the day -- actually laid down and took a nap. haven't done that in ages. Had the windows open and it was so nice just lay there and relax.

Holy crap Charmed, you were up early

Ran some errands in town this morning and I wanted to do some more cleaning at my MIL house. Was going to finish up saturday but tit was windy and snowy and staying home sounded so much better

Oh I miss living in Georgia, I moved back to Indiana 9yrs ago. I used to go back to visit Tybee island every February but have not been there for 3yrs now. I lived at Ft. Stewart GA and loved the weather down there. Didn't care for the ants but it was still awsome!

Nice to meet you!

tybee island, wonderful place. haven't been there in years. just googled it and they are having their annual Mardi Gras celebration. Me and a girl friend have been trying to find a good place to go and get away for a weekend. I think you just planted a seed.

Hey, and my chickens take care of the ants for me....

We had a little bit of excitement saturday night. We were sitting here eating dinner and heard a huge explosion that shook the house, rattling the windows. Scared the crap out of all of us. I stepped outside, nothing of ours was on fire and I didn't hear anything. However living out here surrounded by oil wells and oil tanks we thought we would just drive down the road to see if there was anything to report. There are very few houses out here. Not quit a mile up the road we saw a fire at one of the oil leases Kenny hauls out of for work. As we got closer we saw a truck with a tank on it engulfed flames.

Our first fear was it was one of Kennys coworkers. Then he noticed it was not one of their trucks but an old fire truck that was being used for circulating oil. We were the first ones there and my first thought was someone is either dead in that engulfed cab or we may need to pull somebody out of there before another explosion. The truck was parked just feet away from the tank. They had been pumping oil in or out of their truck. All of a sudden we saw someone run towards us. These are both kids in their early 20s. The one kid was burnt on his face and hands. he had been in the cab. When you see the pics you will not believe this kids luck. The other kid was on the top of the truck. As loud as this explosion was at our house I can't imagine how loud it was to these poor kids. The one I talked to said he thought his whole body exploded, he felt the explosion.

My camera would not take good pictures of the actual fire but we went back yesterday morning to take some. These will make the hair stand up on the back of your neck. Both boys were taken to the hospital. We saw both of their pickup trucks in town this morning so they are out. I am sure they will have some burns to care for but I think the fact that it was winter and they had insulated coveralls and other winter clothes on saved them from a lot worse.

Behind the cab you see where the end of the tank exploded open almost against it? Well there was a fiberglass sleeper cab there. If that had not been there, that poor kid would be dead. It would have exploded in to the back of his head. The end of the tank looks like it is popped open like a tin can! The kid standing on top of that truck is lucky too. He could have been blown into a pipe or the tank, amything!

So that was our excitement! Our poor little dirt road hasnt seem that much traffic, ever! Between all of the Sherrif, police, highway patrol, ambulance and every one of the voulnteer fire dept in their own vehicles, it looked like a parade!

I have an Aunt on one side of the family in the Northern part of Indiana and one on the southern end. In fact, we leave next Thursday for a wedding in the Southern part. I am just ready to get away for a few days!

Good Grief that was some excitement. I know your heart was pounding. Glad you were there to help the kids and Glad the kids are okay -- but i have to ask what were they doing there? were they the cause of the explosion?
