Ever seen a chicken actually LAYING a egg?

I've seen it a few times now, but the best time was when Rebecca laid hers right in my hand. Wow.

When I couldn't figure out which of my EEs were laying which eggs (blues, greens, beiges), I brought a chair up to the coop, sat down and watched. Up close and personal. It took about an hour for them all to lay, but by the time they were finished, I knew exactly which hen laid which color egg. Fascinating. I have an ancona, though, that if I happen to walk into the coop when she's in the nest box, she will promptly get down and a little later will lay her egg on the floor. It's like she's punishing me for interrupting her. The others don't care.

I have seen a hen lay many times! Here is a video that i got of Lucy laying her egg.

Wish I had a camera, but my daughter and her friend were chasing one of my hens in our yard (chasing it out my neighbor's yard back into ours) and while it was running just shot an egg out full speed!!! LOL
