I hate these type if waterers, had two and toss both. Eventually the seal becomes such that you have to tighten it down so tight to maintain the seal it becomes impossible to unscrew it.

is the only kind I've ever bought, had two for several years, and never had any trouble with them. There is no seal involved, reservoir screws onto the base which you have to do upside down. My local feed store has them for not too much money. Personally, I'd rather have 6 small ones than one big one, anyway.

I have got mine working.. I got them for free so, i wanted to make them work. I do have 2 of those small ones and i like them 2
