What about cherry dr pepper on occasion LOL....my 2 favorite hens (the ones that lay actually) LOVE it...evertime they see me drinking it out of the can they come as close as they can to me.

And is it just me or do most chickens like SPIT?

I don't really give my hens anything else to drink except water, but on occasion they drink warm cooked meat juice (or broth) from the slow-cooker along with little bits of meat. Other than that, I wouldn't suggest giving them anything else.

INSTEAD of water? Nothing at all. They need water and there is no substitute. Period.

In addition to water? I give milk and whey when I have it, broth, etc. I don't think of this as something to replace water, though, it's nutrition that happens to be in liquid form.

How could it possibly "really help with raising... chickens" to give them anything other than water...? Is water too expensive? Is there no water access on the property? Does someone belong to a cult that believes water is unclean? Is somebody under the illusion that there could possibly be something healthier for chickens to drink than the common, ubiquitous water that nature intended them to drink and that their bodies are thus designed/evolved to process?

I'm sorry--it's so nice to see that other people are trying to be helpful, but I'm still stuck scratching my head over what the OP was actually driving at... Not clear on the logic at work...

Ummmm pretty straight forward , can they drink other things. What else can they drink.... Pretty self explanatory lol

Yea, I'd be curious too to see what else they'd drink, its not like you'd substitute anything else FOR the water...but maybe for a treat or something, I know your not supposed to give em sugar or caffine probably but 3 of mine still LOVE cherry dr pepper lol even more than food.
