I loved these phonesHowever did we ever live without technology before? In the 1940's when my folks installed their first all-black dial phone it was a shared party line w/ a neighbor ~ one ring meant the call was at the neighbor's house & 2 rings meant the call was for our house... which meant either house could pick up the phone to listen to the other neighbor's conversations! To make a long distance call to the next county involved dialing "O" for a live operator to make the long distance connection
