She is in the garage in the brooder tent, all by herself lonesome. I hate keeping her by herself but she is eating the meds on her own and I don’t want anyone else getting it before she does.

Yes, I sure can bring the silkies in, they are so gentle and Rue and Porcini hang out with them often. I am going to do just that shortly here so she has someone to sleep next to.

@BY Bob your method worked perfectly to get the cochins in bed. They refused after I unplugged their heater but with a headlamp, they popped right in.

As Miss Ceecee stands here staring at me, she’s done with the corn and the scratch. Wasn’t too interested. But she was eyeballing the jar of Ritz crackers on the shelf. “Yes dear, let me get it down for you and open the jar”. By now, she’s so close, I can feel her breath on my arm. No sooner did I remove the lid, she had her head in the jar removing crackers.
These chooks are so entertaining (even at 4:00 PST)

Chickens are like "Lassie" ~ but instead of barking they might cluck softly & lead you to where they want you to see something, or they cluck loudly & run back & forth from the closed coop back to you, & back to the coop again, & follow you to make sure you're getting their message to open the pen. Or they squawk standing in front of an empty treat bowl asking for a refill. Who knew chickens had human communication skills like a toddler's

Thank you I have high hopes she will pull through. The other day she couldn’t walk at all. It’s so odd. The symptoms she shows most of the time are so subtle but something is definitely not right.

Can you bring a friend in with her so she isn't lonely? Do you have a 'calmer' SFH for a friend???

Edit: the silkies for overnight companionship is a good idea

Eli-too had a run-in with a bunny yesterday - Eli tried to fly over the manure pile to get away from the bunny but seems she has put on some weight since last year!

End result both Eli and the bunny had a fright. Silly creatures!

No one watches Holy Grail! That rabbit is a killer!

Calypso, well, I have no clue on her parentage. She is beardless like the rest of them so that does narrow it down somewhat. I will not even take a guess on which boy is her daddy as both parents have to carry that dominate white gene. I know for a fact Davy is Bluey's dad, only option. I suspect Barbosa is the father to Bingo and Lucky.

I find it amusing that while I love my bearded girls, I kept beardless keepers. I had plenty of bearded chicks hatch out. These 4 just spoke to me as chicks. I remind them daily though, please, pullets.

Non-bearded are keepers. I didn't think so till we got this little Moorhead. She's our funny girl & has the cutest tiny wattles & the turquoise ears show up better.
