That's good though,because that means your hens will be safe,should a predator make its way to them. My asils will fight,though I have only one male that can't. The other four are good with other roosters as long as the dont start something,but my other Asil roo will fight any rooster near him,andwo t stop unless he gets trampled or stepped on a beat,and sometimes he won't even stop there.

Lucky won't be joining the outside flock. He is way to aggressive, and I don't want him OR the other boosters injured

I see what you mean. I didn't know how aggressive they were at first,and then I researched them,after the fact of putting three cockerels out with my flock,and they got along well with he others,and still do,but I still keep an eye on them just in case they try to pull a fast one.

I think that is a large part of Lucky's problem. He hasn't been around other chicks. Not even sure he knows he is a chicken.lol

I feel that way with Clarisse, except she will go out with the others of her breed when spring rolls in,at least I think it will be spring,unless my mom makes me kick her outside before then. Otherwise I may set something up in our basement for Clarisse, as long as we can get rid of the rats first,because I think that's what took one of my birche OE game bantam hens the other day...and I found a dead scalped mouse,as well as a dismembered wild bird,but the bird was all the,though torn apart,all signs of a rat... So I set poison in the basement to kill them.

I've had to deal with Norway rats here too. Some of them 18"long from nose to the tip of their tail. I started using rat poison paraffin bricks. I go through an average of 10 lbs a month. It turns out that opossum love it.Thankfully it kills them too in high concentrations.
