I have 4 BOs, 3 Australorps and now 3 Lavender Orpingtons. Love them all!

Lavendar Orps are my favorite, may have to add some next year. They are simply striking, almost acquired a LO cockerel two weeks ago.

The only LF breeders I know of outside of Canada are in the midwest. I don't think I know of anyone at all over your way with Buffs. I think a few hatcheries carry them, but their quality is debatable at best. Might make a good start, though.

Somehow I'm not surprised Hatchery stock always makes me wonder, but refinement of hatchery stock is posssible correct?

Yes, it absolutely is, as long as you have the infrastructure to hatch many birds every year.

It's a long process - hope you can find some good birds soon, always better to start with the best if possible.
