Evil is still around, but he's not growing? *PICS*

I don't know if there is a whole lot you can give him. He's getting your chicken feed and the gamebird stuff, that's better than he would be doing out on his own. Rabbits are fickle. Especially wild ones. They are pefectly fine one minute, at deaths door the next.

Now that my outdoor cat is no longer with us, I've got Cottontails everywhere. Any feed that gets wet during a storm it tossed out into the yard as are the occassional handful of scratch. I've had one that has been here for 3 years now. I know it's the same one because it's missing it's tail. I think it must have been Bashful Kitties last attempt at a kill.

Will say a special bunny prayer for him.

Tune in later for some pics. Not very good ones. I was too busy watching where I stepped out there after our little snake adventure.

Maybe he's just holding out for yummy rabbit food. Or carrots. Maybe some lettuce. Or maybe he's just staying small so you don't boot him out into the big bad world.

Actually my understanding is that lettuce isn't really good for them. Too much water content. Not good for Guinea Pigs or Hamsters either. Cabbage on the other hand!

How do buns get their protein to help them grow? I have no idea. I had a big white rabbit that we fed pellets to as a kid.

Hey Gritty,
How big are the wild rabbits there?
Here the wild ones are about the size of squirrels. If you see bigger ones, you know they are released pets.

Thanks to my idiot neighbor who just "frees" his rabbits when they over-produce, we have lots of those poor former pets running around in the woods nearby. A couple of them live in my rock walls I think, or at least take shelter there. I don't actually see them often, but in the winter I can see their tracks going to and from hollows in the rock wall. He caught a baby of one of his "released pets" and gave it to me as a gift, she was being chased by a dog. I love her to death, but it disturbs me that he isn't more responsible. I always wonder how well they survive after being let go.

Iceberg lettuce isn't good, but others such as Kale, Romaine, Green Leaf are, they have lots of vitamins and good stuff in them. Just an FYI.

To my knowledge we have three types of rabbits here - jackrabbits, swamp rabbits and eastern cottontails. Evil is a cottontail.

Not good pics and nothing for scale - again I was on mocassin watch

- but he's about the size of a large chipmunk, while his siblings are the size of....well, rabbits.
