Been there, Done that.......

Until........ A few Thanksgivings ago we (current fam) actually wished on a shooting star of all things that we would be safe from HIM...

Two days later I got a phone call that HE ran himself over trying to push his van up a hill.

Needless to say sometimes wishes come true.

Life hasn't been better. Hope I didn't just jinx myself.

I know I am evil.

I'm sorry for your daughter, and hope she's okay. It is sad that a father would basically desert a child like that.
My mother's own divorce is a horror story that I won't bother to relate on a public forum, but I know the damage an uncooperative ex can wreak on someone's life . . . I hope in the end everything works out for you.
