EXCITED! Just ordered!

I am sooooo anxious! I just ordered my first turkey poults! 8 Narr,6BR and 4 BS! I ordered from Cackle...have no idea when shipping date is yet but they only hatch March-July....anyone else waiting?Or have you gotten any from Cackle?

I ordered from them I love the birds but shipping took forever and keep them on speed dial if you ever have to call them. I also never got my shipping call or email.
I was told they are a family company with few employees so I can understand being a small business owner.

When I first ordered from Cackle many years ago, I ordered 25 chickens and they sent me about 30. I had no problem with my order. I would order from them again, if I needed to.

Thanks! I will be calling if I don't get a shipping date within ten days as they said! I have been looking at all the turkey pics on here...beautiful birds! OOOOO I can't wait!!!!
Did anybody lose a bunch?and if so,why do you think you lost them?

excited for you! last year was my first with poults, we had no issues and are hooked. Our Turkeys are now our favorite birds.

So tell me Katythechickenlady,
what did you feed the poults for the first few weeks?I was at TSC tonight and they only sell the 2nd step of purina for poults...not sure if the starter would be seasonal or not...

Gamebird starter is better for starting them...

I did have issues one year when my order came in and one poult was dead to the point of stinking. I lost most of them from that order, I think they may have gotten sick from the carcass in with them or had an illness when they were shipped, not sure which. I don't order from that hatchery anymore, but don't worry, it wasn't Cackle

I'll warn you now, turkeys are addictive. They are really curious and sometimes follow you around to see what you are doing. Good luck, I know you'll love them!
