exciting day for my Sumatra chicks!

And for me! I built them a little outdoor coop with a covered run so they could get out on nice days. They are only 3.5 weeks old. Well late this afternoon, it was close enough to done to give it a test run. I put the little buggers out there (14 of them) and let them have at it. They were skiddish at 1st, but started pecking and scratching. The Sumatra hens seemed a little interested in them! Then, one of them saw a worm. Devoured it! That made my day! Now they are warm and cozy inside, most of them sleeping.............

That is so cool! I let my 5 and 1/2 week olds venture outside for their first time today!

it made me a proud father, watching one of the Black Sumatra chicks making it's 1st kill. And it's 1st taste of free range food!​
