I'll be setting tomorrow and seeing how many eggs I can pack into it. After they're all in there and counted, I'll take a photo and post it. :highfive:

Are you using the turner? Or are you turning them by hand?

I'm awaiting fertilized eggs from my paint pen, I had an egg today, let me check it...

Well, the egg from today was not fertilized, so I decided to check the two from yesterday... whoop! They're good! I have three ladies in there so it looks like he just has one left to convince he's the rooster of her dreams. He really is a sweetheart.

I plan to set eggs on the 27th. Right now the incubator is just running along empty with the thermo-hygrometers in it so I can get comfortable with the unit. I want to make sure the temperature is staying steady and I have a few more alarms to test out 🤣

I've always let the incubators do the turning. This one will let me shut off the turner whatever day I want it to. I do a 5-day lockdown because I've had pips on Day 18 a couple of times.

Do you use the cool down cycle?
No. I candle them at 7 days, then right before lockdown, so that's the only "cooling" I do.

Not sure what birds are supposed to have that though.

The last time I looked into it, studies showed that the cooling cycle increased hatch rates for chickens and ducks for sure.

I use the cool down cycle on my brinsea eco 40 advance.
